During the week of May 13th through May 18th, bike riders who use a Topeka Metro fixed route bus to complete their trip will ride for FREE. This exciting program is part of the Topeka Bikeways Bike Month.

“A bike is a great complement to taking the bus for commuting and general trips and it’s exciting to offer free rides to those with bikes during Bike to Work Week,” said Julie Anderson, Topeka Metro Planner. “Using both combines the benefits of cycling with the convenience and cost-effectiveness of transit. We hope riders take advantage of it this week and see how easy it is to get around Topeka on bus and bike.”

Each Topeka Metro fixed route bus is equipped with a bike rack that accommodates a maximum of two bikes. Free rides are on a first come, first serve basis and are limited to the space available on the bike rack. For safety reasons, bikes are not allowed inside the bus.
