Topeka Metro Announces November and December Free Ride Promotions
TOPEKA, KANSAS (November 18, 2016) — Topeka Metro has several promotions coming up that benefit everyone! First, Topeka Metro will begin a holiday campaign, “Shop and Ride—Free After 5,” starting Monday, November 21, for all fixed routes only. It will be effective through December 31, 2016. This will be a great way to get a couple of hours in to do your holiday shopping and have someone else do the driving.
Our second promotion, Remember Rosa Ride Free Day, is Thursday, Dec. 1st, in recognition of Rosa Parks. Topeka Metro implemented this promotion in 2015 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Rosa Parks’ civil rights stance. This promotion is for all fixed routes only. Topeka Metro General Manager Susan Duffy said, “Topeka Metro is proud to recognize the efforts of Rosa Parks for the benefit of all people.”
Finally, the 4th Annual Winter Fling/Families Ride Free campaign is coming back by popular demand! Families can ride all fixed routes free of charge from December 21, 2016, through January 3, 2017. Topeka Metro partners with businesses throughout the city of Topeka to provide either free or discounted entertainment and food for families over the holiday break. Families of at least one adult and one child can board the bus for free and obtain the coupons for family-friendly things in Topeka.
“During this busy season, let Topeka Metro make life a bit easier for you! Hop on the bus, take the stress out of dealing with traffic and searching for a parking space,” said Duffy. “During our Families Ride Free, visit our promotional partners for family fun time. We’ll see you on the bus!”
