Notice to beneficiaries under Title VI


“No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” – Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

 

Topeka Metro provides its services in a consistent manner without regard to race, color, national origin or limited English proficiency.  Members of the public may obtain additional information regarding Topeka Metro’s Title VI non-discrimination obligations by contacting the Title VI Coordinator.


Who may file a Title VI complaint?


A Title VI complaint may be filed by anyone who believes that they may have been excluded from or denied the benefit of any program, service or activity of Topeka Metro on the basis of race, color, national origin, or limited English proficiency.

 

Members of the public may initiate a complaint with Topeka Metro by:

 

  • Calling Customer Service at (785) 783-7000
  • Delivering written complaint to the Quincy Street Station at S.E. 9th and Quincy Street
  • Mailing written complaint to Topeka Metro, 201 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka KS  66603
  • E-mail to info@topekametro.org

 

Title VI complaints must be filed within 180 days of the date of the alleged discrimination.
