Advisory Committee on Accessible Transportation Services

Serving the city of Topeka for decades, the Advisory Committee on Accessible Transportation Services, also known as ACATS, is a citizen’s advocacy organization which provides a forum to encourage public participation and dialogue between Topeka Metro and special needs riders using all transit services. ACATS was created by resolution of the Board of Directors of Topeka Metro.

Membership to ACATS is by appointment to a three year term, subsequent to a solicitation and election process. Membership consists of ten voting members. At least 51% of the voting membership must be persons with disabilities and consumers of Topeka Metro services. Membership also includes a minimum of two ex-officio members from local agencies. Ex-officio members are non-voting members of ACATS.

ACATS meetings are held bi-monthly in the south meeting room of the Quincy Street Station (820 SE Quincy Street) at 10:15 a.m.  Eligible Lift Service passengers needing transportation to and/or from the meeting may request a ride by calling 785-783-7000 by 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the meeting. Regular paratransit fares will apply.
