Topeka Metro Board of Directors Votes No Reduced Service

TOPEKA, KAN. (January 28, 2022) – On Friday, January 28th, the Topeka Metro Board of Directors held a special board meeting to vote regarding a system-wide bus route service reduction. The board unanimously voted 7 to 0 against reducing service. No changes to the current service will be made at this time.

The service reduction was proposed because of a current workforce shortage. Earlier this month, Topeka Metro held three public meetings to gather input from passengers and the public regarding the proposed changes. At the third public meeting, which took place at the Topeka Metro Board of Directors meeting January 18, members of the public were given the opportunity to address the board publicly. Input was also allowed via mail, fax, email, and in-person through January 21, 2022.
