Detours Downtown Topeka -Saturday, June 11, 2022

Due to several downtown Topeka events taking place Saturday, June 11, 2022, Topeka Metro will have detours on some of our routes from approximately 9:30 a.m. to the end of the day.

The Topeka Juneteenth Parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Kansas Avenue. The Tap That Topeka event will start at 2:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. 

The following routes will be affected:  

Light Blue #5 - Indiana

Outbound:  Regular route to 10th and Monroe, enter on-ramp to eastbound I-70, exit Adams off-ramp, south on Adams to 15th Street, back on route.

Inbound:  Regular route to 15th and Adams, continue North on Adams to westbound I-70 on-ramp, exit 8th Street off-ramp, west on 8th Street to Quincy, south on Quincy to QSS entrance.

Navy #6 – West 6th

Outbound:  Bus will leave its staging area and turn right under the canopy leading from QSS to the island – regular route.     

Inbound:  Not affected – regular route.

Pink #7 - Washburn

Outbound:  Bus will leave its staging area and turn right under the canopy leading from QSS to the island, regular route to 8th Street and Quincy, North on Quincy to 6th Street, west on 6th Street to Topeka Blvd, south on Topeka Blvd to 8th Street, west on 8th Street, back on regular route.  

Inbound:  Regular route to 8th & Topeka Blvd., North on Topeka Blvd. to 6th Street, East on 6th Street to Monroe, south on Monroe to 8th Street, back on regular route.

Tan #10 – West 10th

Outbound:  Leaving the staging area, turn left around the QSS island, North on Quincy to 6th Street, west on 6th Street to Topeka Blvd., south on Topeka Blvd. to 10th Street, west on 10th Street, back on regular route.

Inbound:  Regular route to 10th Street & Topeka Blvd, North on Topeka Blvd to 6th Street, east on 6th Street to Monroe, south on Monroe to 9th Street, west on 9th Street to QSS. 

Purple #12 - Huntoon

Outbound:  Leaving the staging area, turn right around the QSS island and turn right under the canopy leading from QSS to the island, North on Quincy to 6th Street, west on 6th Street to Topeka Blvd., south on Topeka Blvd. to 11th Street, west on 11th Street, back on regular detour.

Inbound:  On regular detour to 10th Street and Topeka Blvd, North on Topeka Blvd to 6th Street, east on 6th Street to Quincy, south on Quincy to QSS entrance.

Teal #17 – West 17th

Outbound:  Bus will leave its staging area and turn right under the canopy leading from QSS to the island, regular route to 8th Street and Quincy, North on Quincy to 6th Street, west on 6th Street to Topeka Blvd, south on Topeka Blvd to 8th Street, back on regular route.

Inbound:  Regular route to 8th Street and Topeka Blvd., North on Topeka Blvd to 6th Street, east on 6th Street to Monroe, south on Monroe to 8th Street, back on regular route.

Green #21 – West 21st

Outbound:  Regular route to 10th Street and Monroe, enter on-ramp to eastbound I-70, exit Adams off-ramp, south on Adams to 21st Street, west on 21st Street to Kansas Ave, back on route.

Inbound:  Regular route to 21st Street and Kansas, continue on 21st Street to Adams, North on Adams to westbound I-70 on-ramp, exit 8th Street off-ramp, west on 8th Street to Quincy, south on Quincy to QSS entrance.

Red #29 – West 29th

Outbound:  Regular route to 10th Street and Monroe, enter on-ramp to eastbound I-70, exit Adams off-ramp, south on Adams to 21st Street, west on 21st Street to Kansas Ave, south on Kansas Ave, back on route.

Inbound:  Regular route to 21st Street and Kansas Ave, east on 21st Street to Adams, North on Adams to westbound I-70 on-ramp, exit 8th Street off-ramp, west on 8th Street to Monroe, south on Monroe to 9th Street, west on 9th Street to QSS.
